Larry Atterberry Sr.

For over 40 years, Larry's expertise and knowledge has been in Auctioneering and Real Estate. He has been an active Real Estate Broker since 1972 and Auctioneer since 1970. Larry's involvement and expertise in real estate has made him one of the state's leading Auctioneers of property. He is currently one of only three Auctioneers in Missouri to hold the specialized designation of AARE (Accredited Auctioneer of Real Estate). Larry's experience in the field of auctioneering is vast but his true passion lies in selling real estate at auction. Larry is a proud member of the Missouri Auctioneers Association where he has served on the board of directors and held every office available, including President. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1997 for the state of Missouri. Larry regularly donates his time to raise money for various charity organizations.
Larry's designations and memberships include: Certified Auctioneer Institute (completed the three-year program required for CAI designation), Auction Marketing Institute, Accredited Auctioneer of Real Estate, National & State Auctioneer's Associations, Graduate of Reisch College of Auctioneering (Mason City Iowa), National & State Association of Realtors, Lifetime member of the Million Dollar Club (since 1980), Columbia Board of Realtors & Multiple Listing Service, Columbia Chamber of Commerce (past chair of various committees), Vietnam Veteran (serving two tours in Thailand & Vietnam), American Legion, Veteran of Foreign Wars and Volunteer of the Year award (Cancer Research Society).

Larry Jr. began his venture into the world of Auctioneering at a young age. While growing up in the family business, Larry occupied positions in clerking, cashiering, bid assisting/ringing, set-up and display. In 1987 Larry graduated from Reish Auction School. He is an accomplished Auctioneer, a Licensed Real Estate Broker and owner of Atterberry Auction & Realty Co. LLC. He has earned the prestigious Certified Auctioneer Institute designation. Larry is a member of the Missouri Professional Auctioneers Association where he is currently serving as Past President. He was awarded the Bid Calling Champion for the state of Missouri in 2002. Larry regularly volunteers his auctioneer services to numerous community organizations, such as Cancer Research Center, Lutheran Family and Children Services, several local schools and others.

James Scott Sapp

As a second-generation Auctioneer, Scott has grown up as an auction professional. For as long as Scott can remember, he has worked with his father in all aspects of the auction business. Scott's first job was to run clerk sheets and evolved into running the business as a partnership with his father and later as sole proprietor. He attended the Missouri Auction School in 1984, where he received his certificate of completion. Scott became owner of Sapp Auction Service in 1992.
In 1996, Scott became part of Atterberry Auction & Realty Co. LLC. He's a member of the Missouri Professional Auctioneer Association where he is the past 2005 president and has served on the board of directors. Scott attends state and national educational seminars to stay abreast of the latest trends and practices that affect the auction industry. His goal is to do the very best job he can for each and every seller. Scott is a member in good standing in the following professional organizations: Missouri Professional Auctioneer's Association, National Auctioneer's Association, FFA Alumni Association, 4-H Swine Leader and Assistant Youth Basketball Coach.

Judy began in the auction business alongside her husband, Larry Sr., in 1970. Since then, she has participated in every aspect of the auction business and continues to be the driving force behind the company. Her experience and knowledge includes clerking, office managing, real estate, writing up auctions and Senior Cashier. Her primary focus is making sure every auction runs smoothly from start to finish.

Terri Atterberry

Terri grew up in the Auction Industry alongside her brother and over the years has been involved in many aspects of the Auctioneering business. In 1992, she graduated from the Missouri Auction School and joined her brother and father as a Licensed Auctioneer. In 2006 Terri was awarded the Grand Champion Bid Caller for the State of Missouri and has been an instructor for the Missouri Auction School since 1996.
Terri is a licensed Realtor, a member of the Certified Personal Property Appraiser’s Guild and completed the Accredited Auctioneer of Real Estate program. Her primary focus is in selling real estate at auction and helping the community raise money for various charities. She is a past Board member for the Missouri Professional Auctioneer's Association and the Missouri Housing Industry Alliance. Terri is active in the business community, a member of the Columbia Board of Realtors, the Multiple Listing Service for Realtors, the Missouri Realtor’s Association, the National Realtor Association, Missouri Professional Auctioneers Association, and of the National Auctioneers Association, and the Golden K Kiwanis Group.

Ed Stevens
Real Estate Auction Specialist
Raymond "Ed" Stevens has always had a great interest in auctioneering. Growing up in Kansas, Ed would catch a ride to weekend farm auctions in the area. After moving to Pilot Grove, MO during high school, Ed spent spare time clerking, cashiering, bid assisting/ringing, set-up and display for a local auctioneer. As an adult Ed used his auctioneering talent to raise money for those in need at benefit auctions from New Orleans to California. In 2007 he assisted local auctioneers, auctioneering land and farm auctions in and around Cooper and Howard county. In 2009, Ed joined the team of Atterberry Auction & Realty Company LLC.
Ed is an active member in the following professional organizations: National Association of Realtors, Missouri Association of Realtors, Central Missouri Board of Realtors, Council Of Residential Specialists, Seniors Residential Specialists, and is a graduate of The Realtor Institute.

Ben Dugan

Ben is an accomplished Real Estate Broker even though he has only been an agent for 7 years. His achievements include Multi-Million Dollar Producer for 6 consecutive years. RE/MAX Executive & Presidents club for 5 years, RE/MAX 100% Club for 2 years and the 5 Million Dollar Producer for 2006. Ben worked for Missouri Farm Bureau for 30 years, 25 in the management program and 5 years as a Career Agent before retiring and becoming a Real Estate Agent. Ben is also a 6th Generation Auctioneer for the Dugan Family, One of the oldest auction families in the USA. Ben graduated from World Wide College of Auctioneering in Mason City, IA in 2002.

Catrin Johnson is the newest member of the Atterberry Auction & Realty Co. LLC. team. She has over 10 years of customer service & office management experience. Catrin is looking forward to getting her Real Estate License and growing her position as well as learning all the aspects of the Auction business. Her primary focus is making sure every auction is well publicized and assisting the team in achieving its universal goal of having every auction be a success.
Catrin lives in Columbia with her husband, son and 3 dogs. She enjoys reading and participating in community charity events and volunteering with several local not-for-profit organizations.
